Vallparadís Railway - The schools

Since 1996, the Vallparadís Railway every Thursday of the school term time, from October to June, and with the collaboration of PAME, Town Education Board, offers its installations to the pupils so they can know about the small railway. During the last years about 14.000 pupils have been to Vallparadís Railway, so it means that the slogan "Let's go to the Vallparadís Railway" is absolutely positive. The journey on the train is complemented with the didactic explanations of one of our retired from working members, which is made depending on the age of the children. The younger ones can see how our locomotives move using its own energy and how they shunt on the turntable. To the other pupils information about the different sources of energy that make locomotives work is given. These energies are electricity, batteries, combustible and mineral coal. The boys and the girls can see very close the electric and the steam locomotives. Its kind of working is explained, as well as the using of the turntable.
