 CHRONOLOGY OF THE HISTORY OF THE NORTH LINE
27/11/1852 Franchise by Royal Bond to the "Company of the Railway from Barcelona to Zaragoza"
02/05/1855 The section between Montcada and Sabadell is opened (11,9 km)
14/03/1856 The first official train arrives to Terrassa
04/07/1859 The line is inaugurated up to Manresa
01/05/1860 The train arrives to Lleida
18/09/1861 The train arrives to Zaragoza
21/03/1862 The train arrives to Barcelona from Montcada (11 km)
1865 The company takes the name "Railway from Zaragoza to Pamplona and Barcelona"
13/02/1878 The line takes part of the "Company of the Railways of the North of Spain"
1901 The nowadays building of Terrassa station is built
1911 The works of double track in Terrassa-Manresa section start
1928 Electrification from Montcada-Bifurcació to Manresa (1500 volts DC)
1941 The National Net of the Spanish Railways (RENFE) is created
1956 Commemorating exhibition of the centenary of the railway in Terrassa
1962 The floods of the 25th September damage seriously the line. During a period of time, the trains that come from Spain finish their journeys in Terrassa and to get the Barcelona the road must be used
1965 The electric voltage is changed to 3000 volts DC on the lines Barcelona-Manresa; Montcada Bifurcació- Ripoll- Sant Joan de les Abadesses and Ripoll- Puigcerdà
1973 The circulation way of the trains is changed. Since then the trains will run on the right, as in the remains of Catalonia
29/05/1994 The new underground section of the tracks is inaugurated all the length of Terrassa and the remodelling of the station building
2001 The tickets integration make possible that using a single ticket you can travel on the train, bus and underground paying only one time
